A beginning quilting class for boys and girls age 10 or older will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday in meeting room A of the Urbandale Public Library, 3520 86th St. All materials, sewing machines, and lunch will be provided.

Midland/Odessa Christian Women's Connection is to meet 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ranchland Hills Golf Club. There will be a presentation on quilting. Cost of the luncheon is $14, payable at the door. Emilie Keenan, 93, of Oakes, N.D., formerly of Wyndmere, N.D., died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Oakes Manor Good Samaritan Center, Oakes, N.D. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at Peace Lutheran Church, Barney, N.D., with the Rev. Morris Stephens officiating.
